June 29, 2009
CHARLOTTE, NC - At an award ceremony on June 17, 2009, Burke Communications (www.BurkeCom.com), a full-service Charlotte advertising agency, was recognized as the #73-ranked small business on Business Leader magazine's Top 100 North Carolina Small Businesses list.
For the second consecutive year, Business Leader Media announced its rankings of the Top 100 N.C. Small Businesses, and in conjunction with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, the 100 companies were honored at three simultaneous dinner events in Charlotte, the Triad, and the Triangle, recognizing winners that have excelled financially and positively impacted their communities within the last year. Out of more than 280 nominations received by Business Leader Media, the companies on the 2009 list were selected due to their exemplary fulfillment of criteria that included one-year revenue growth, five-year revenue growth, industry awards and achievements, and community involvement.
The majority of the award winners were located in the Triad and the Triangle, making Burke particularly notable among Charlotte firms.
Jack Burke, CEO, and John Cavanaugh, President, represented Burke Communications at the 2009 Top 100 N.C. Small Business Event at the Marriott Charlotte on June 17.
"Burke Communications is honored to be acknowledged among the state's leading small businesses," said Jack Burke. "We are very pleased that our company's individual growth, as well as our contributions to our community's growth, have been recognized by Business Leader media, and thank our clients and staff who made this award possible."
The rankings will be published in Business Leader magazine, which is distributed in Charlotte, the Triad and the Triangle.
