Burke Communications Named An Entrepreneur Awards Finalist By The Charlotte Chamber
June 11, 2007

CHARLOTTE, NC - Burke Communications was named a finalist for the annual Entrepreneur Awards given by the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce. The Entrepreneur Awards recognize the success of small business owners in Mecklenburg County.

Burke Communications is one of four finalists in the category of businesses with fewer than 20 employees. Nominees are judged on: the value of the product or service to the customer, financial performance, culture / values, community service, sustainability, innovation, and perseverance in overcoming obstacles.

The awards will be presented at the Annual Chamber Award Gala on Wednesday, September 12th at the Charlotte Westin.

"We are honored to be selected a finalist for this prestigious award," said Jack Burke, CEO of Burke Communications. "We haven't followed the traditional advertising agency model, as we have a creative-heavy staff and most services located in-house, yet we have steadily grown since I founded the company in 1991. It is very gratifying to be recognized by the Charlotte Chamber for our efforts to help our clients, our community and our company succeed."

"Jack deserves to be held up as a model for entrepreneurs because he has built a successful business while maintaining a focus on collaboration, teamwork and community," said John Cavanaugh, president of Burke Communications. "He is committed to creating a positive, team-oriented environment for our staff because he believes that happy, engaged employees provide the best service and creative solutions for our clients. He believes that, as the company grows, his ability to use his resources to give back to our community's nonprofit organizations grows as well. This is reflected in the tremendous amount of community service work that Jack and other Burke Communications employees provide to the area's charitable organizations."
