CHARLOTTE, NC - The Boy Scouts of America's Mecklenburg County Council has received the donation of a custom-designed, modern, easy-to-navigate Web site from Burke Communications. As part of the overall Web site redesign, the Council has also established a new Web address at www.mccscouting.org.
The new site offers information about Scouting, including membership, camps, events and resources, in a friendly, open design.
Leroy Mayne, executive director of the Mecklenburg Council, praised the new site. He said, "Maintaining excellent communications with our Scouting family, current and prospective donors, and the general public is an essential piece of keeping Scouting a strong, positive force in our community. Our new web site, designed and hosted by Burke Communications, provides an easy, attractive way to keep people up-to-date on Scouting. We are extremely excited about the new site, which gives us opportunities to expand and offer even more interactivity in the future, and are grateful to Burke Communications for this generous contribution."
Burke Communications CEO Jack Burke is a member of the Council's board of directors, serving as vice president of public relations and marketing. He is pleased to offer his firm's services in marketing, branding and Web site design to help build awareness of Boy Scouts and its programs and services in Mecklenburg County.
"Scouting offers boys and young men many opportunities to grow into strong, capable men by emphasizing achievement, teamwork and respect for humankind and the earth's natural resources. Our community, nation and world benefit greatly from the work of Scouts and Scouting, and, as an Eagle Scout and a member of the local Council's Board, I am proud to be associated with this fine organization," said Burke.
