Burke Communications Awarded Contract to Design New Olde English Consortium Web Site
March 26, 2007
CHARLOTTE, NC - Burke Communications was recently awarded the contract to design a Web site for the Olde English Consortium, a South Carolina educational collaborative seeking to promote excellence in education through collaboration.
In addition to the main Olde English Consortium site, which will be accessed at www.oldeenglishconsortium.org when it launches later this year, Burke will also design a site for the OEC's grant-funded project, American History: Telling Our Story, part of the U.S. Department of Education's Teaching American History grant program. This program interweaves local history into the larger narrative of American history by making local history more accessible. It achieves this by developing curricula, materials and training programs for American History teachers in Cherokee, Chester, Clover, Fairfield, Fort Mill, Lancaster, Rock Hill, Union, and York school districts.
The Olde English Consortium serves over 70,000 students, approximately 7,000 educators, and a regional population of approximately 250,000 of South Carolina's best citizens. The consortium facilitates over 20 groups/committees of educators who are organized to facilitate communication/networking, professional development opportunities and annual objectives of the Olde English Consortium Board of Directors.
