Burke Communications Supports Charlotte Trolley's Success
February 21, 2007
Charlotte NC - The Charlotte Trolley's Second Annual No-Hibition Speakeasy Gala, held at LaVecchia's Seafood Grille on Friday, January 12, entertained more than 150 of Charlotte's most influential leaders and exceeded the event's fundraising goal by 30 percent.
Part of the event's success was due to the contributions of Burke Communications staff, who donated time and talent by serving on the event's planning committee, designing several ads for the auction booklet and recruiting auction donors. A custom video was created by Burke Communications for the event, showcasing the auction items and the event sponsors. Funds raised at the event support the educational programs of the Charlotte Trolley, a local history organization, supported by the Arts & Science Council and dedicated to connecting Charlotteans with the city's past. Jack Burke, president of Burke Communications and a Charlotte Trolley board member, was pleased to participate in the Gala's planning. "This is a great event for a great organization. The evening's theme -- a speakeasy of the 1920s, during Charlotte's first trolley era -- is a great way to connect people with the history of our city in a fun and exciting way, while raising money for the important educational programs Charlotte Trolley offers."
